In collaboration with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is working with MGT Teesside and its EPC contractor Samsung Tecnicas Reunidas to maximise opportunities from the construction activities for local people and local businesses and to support the developers to successfully and safely deliver the project on time and on budget.

We are jointly developing initiatives to publicise the project and employment opportunities from it and upskill local residents to secure those jobs. We have established a training and recruitment hub for this purpose in Grangetown. We are also working with our local business base to alert them to contract opportunities and broker introductions to commissioning contacts. A first event held in December attracted huge interest from the area’s business base and further events and tendering support are planned going forward.
